The Chesed Center directed by Rabbi S. Ochayon runs a clothing center for the family. The needy can respectfully purchase clothing and shoes for nominal, symbolic prices. Tens of people visit the center daily where they can choose from an abundance of secondhand and new clothing which was donated by the state and private benevolent people. The vision of Rabbi Cohen is to have the Chesed Center look like a regular clothing store. This will allow the needy, who don’t have the means to shop in regular stores, to also enjoy the experience of shopping.
The Chesed Center assists the needy in many additional ways such as distributing food packages before the holidays, schoolbags and supplies before the school year etc.
